Participant Reviews
A selection of feedback from recent cohort members across our three programmes.

I attended the Scam Awareness Workshop after my neighbour lost a significant amount to a phone scam. I wanted to be sure I could spot these things and help protect my siblings too. The session was calm, not alarming, and very practical. The reference card has been shared around the family group chat several times.

My daughter is studying in the UK so the Multi-Currency Savings Course was something I had been thinking about for a while. What I appreciated most was that no one tried to sell me a product or a platform. We spent the three sessions genuinely understanding the mechanics. I now feel far less anxious about the currency exposure.

I joined the Retirement and Legacy Programme after my husband and I realised we had never actually sat down together to talk about what we want the next chapter to look like. The family briefing preparation session was unexpectedly the most valuable β it gave us a framework for a conversation we had been putting off for years.

The scam awareness content was genuinely different from what I had seen in bank pamphlets. Real cases, not just bullet points. I am a retired civil servant so I was already reasonably careful, but there were several digital phishing patterns I was not familiar with. Worth attending even if you consider yourself well-informed.

I had done some reading about currency savings on my own but kept getting confused by the terminology. The Multi-Currency course cut through that quite efficiently. Lee Kheng Huat has a way of making technical ideas feel approachable without talking down to you. I came in knowing perhaps 30% of the content β I left understanding all of it.

What I valued most about the Retirement programme was the will and trust session. I had always assumed I needed a lawyer to even begin thinking about this. The session helped me understand what questions to ask and what options exist in Malaysia. The three follow-up sessions were genuinely useful as things came up after the main programme ended.

Participant Journeys
Three accounts of what brought participants to Kasih Finance and what changed for them.
THE SITUATION
A 53-year-old secondary school teacher in Klang had been receiving increasingly sophisticated phone calls. One almost convinced her that her bank account was involved in a money laundering investigation. She had not lost any money β but she was shaken enough to want to understand how these schemes work.
WHAT SHE DID
She attended the Scam Awareness Workshop in January 2025. The first session covered exactly the type of impersonation call she had received β including the specific authority-transfer techniques these callers use to create panic and override rational thinking.
THE OUTCOME
She described feeling "steadier" after the workshop β not because the calls stopped, but because she now had a mental framework for responding. She has since shared the reference card with her school's parent association. Three colleagues attended the next cohort.
"I felt embarrassed that I had almost believed it. This workshop helped me understand that these callers are sophisticated β it is not a matter of being gullible."
THE SITUATION
A 48-year-old logistics manager in Petaling Jaya had a son enrolled at a university in Australia. Monthly transfers were becoming increasingly stressful as the Ringgit fluctuated. He had been told to "open a USD account" by several people but did not fully understand why or which option made sense for him.
WHAT HE DID
He joined the Multi-Currency Savings Course in October 2024. The second session on USD and SGD strategies was directly applicable to his situation. He used the currency allocation worksheet to map out a savings approach that matched his income cycle and his son's semester payment schedule.
THE OUTCOME
By adjusting when and how he converted Ringgit, he reduced the average rate he was paying per AUD. More importantly, he said the anxiety around the transfers diminished significantly β because he now had a plan rather than reacting to each rate movement.
"I had been doing this wrong for three years without knowing it. The course was not dramatic β it was just clear."
THE SITUATION
A 57-year-old self-employed architect in Ampang had been postponing both his retirement planning and his will for years. His wife had asked him repeatedly to "sort it out" β but the combination of complexity and emotional weight meant neither ever got started.
WHAT HE DID
He enrolled in the Retirement and Legacy Programme after a friend recommended it. The programme structure β six sessions over several months β gave him time to think between sessions. The family briefing preparation module gave him and his wife a shared vocabulary for the conversations they had been avoiding.
THE OUTCOME
By the end of the programme he had a draft retirement income plan and had begun the process of preparing his will with a solicitor β something he described as feeling "manageable" for the first time. The three follow-up sessions helped him work through specific questions as the process moved forward.
"We had the family conversation over dinner two weeks after the session. It was long overdue and it went better than I expected."
